Our main data centre is in the euregio-zone in Maastricht and uses the most modern and up to date techniques for the protection of our/your hardware. It is in a seperate, fully secure area, guarded 24/7/365. Within the data center the building is split into a number of separate data floors, accessible by key card only and security camaras are inside and outside the buildings.

Most importantly there is a "remote hands" office where engineers are available to help/solve problems as or before they arise.

Our network which connects our servers to the internet are fully redundant this is for safety and security reasons. Should a problem within the network occur or should the problem come from outside (e.g.Ddos attack) we will have enough capacity to cope with almost any problem. Certified engineers are available in the data center to keep an eye on things and help should any problems arise.

ClusterX is a Trans-it in-house product utilised by all our services: shared webhosting, reseller hosting and the email severs. Shortly ClusterX will include the virtual private servers, making it possible to to manage the vps via Trans-it's own hpanel control panel, our goal being to have a redundant, safe and secure system for the end user.

Hardware brands we use: Hewlett Packard, IBM, Tyan Servers in cluster: There are 20 HP Serves configured to work as one within ClusterX   - 10 HTTP servers   - 5 SMTP, POP, IMAP servers   - 2 Load balancing / gateway servers   - 3 FTP servers Storage: NAS (RAID-5), shortly to be upgraded to HP eva5000 SAN (fiber channel) RAM memory: 72 GB (minimum of 2GB per sever) Processors: Intel/AMD     The cluster acts as one machine. The advantages of this system is that because there are more servers doing the same task if one or more go off-line for whatever reason the others,unnoticed by the end users,take up the slack until repairs are carried out by trans-it technisions( who will have been informed via sms or email automatically via the system.).

Storage is extremely important.No one wants to loose data and its also important that you have constant access to it too. With the new system of storage using the EVA this problem should never be a worry again. Although the nas(s) have served us well and we have never lost any data our new storage solution will not only be safer but quicker but most important it will offer more redundencye too.
